Magic items in HoG are carried by heroes. We can track every item from the "Tomes" menu. Enemy heroes that are slain will drop their items and we should salvage them as soon as possible, when detected, because items are given only from the quests, so they are limited. Some of the most important items worth mentioning are:

• +3 Rune Sword - Given on a melee hero this sword vanquish yellow knights with two hits;
• Drums of Marching - Doubles the movement points to all units in a group. This with the Magic Land Ship makes the fastest army in game.
• Ring of Regeneration - Very useful for viking and dwarf heroes.
• Ward Against Storms - Before we get this item, we shouldn't go much further in the sea.
• Wand of Healing - It have 20 charges and is very handy in the elf hero hands.
