Indiana Jones: The Last Crusade (1989) – Ultimate Speedrun & Key Moments | Lucasfilm Games
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: The Graphic Adventure (1989) is a legendary point-and-click adventure game developed and published by Lucasfilm Games (which later became LucasArts). Released alongside the hit film of the same name, the game puts players directly in the fedora of Indiana Jones, the daring archaeologist, as he races to find the Holy Grail before the Nazis do.
Built on Lucasfilm’s innovative SCUMM engine, the same technology behind Monkey Island and Maniac Mansion, the game combines witty dialogue, clever puzzles, and cinematic storytelling. Players explore famous locations from the movie — from the catacombs of Venice and Castle Brunwald to the Zeppelin escape and the Grail Temple — each filled with traps, clues, and decisions that shape the adventure.
Unlike many games of its era, The Last Crusade encouraged problem-solving over combat, rewarding players who used their wits instead of brute force. It also featured multiple solutions to puzzles, optional challenges, and an in-game “Grail Diary” that mirrored the film’s prop and guided players through historical riddles.
With its mix of humor, mystery, and cinematic flair, the game remains one of the most beloved Lucasfilm classics, a cornerstone of the golden age of adventure gaming, and a must-play for fans of Indiana Jones or retro storytelling experiences.
