In Diablo 3 PC video game there are four types of magic items.The magic items are dropped from monsters or found in treasure chests. What item we get, depend on the hero Magic Find ability.  Here is what the different colors means:
(The colour appearance of the drop can be seen in the screenshot)

BLUE - Magic item.
           - This is the second best type after non magical white items.
           - usually have 2-3 magic properties.

YELLOW - Rare item.
                 - third best type item.
                 - usually have 5-6 magic properties.

BROWN - Legendary item.
                - A rare drop with class oriented properties.
                - my have up to 10 magic properties.

GREEN - Set item.
              - The rarest item drop.
              - Set items give additional magic properties for every piece of the set equipped.
