The greatest improvement in the game Inca Terrace Farm. As many mountains around the tile of construction, as more food it gives, in this case = 6! :

Barbarian Settlers | Civilization 5

Last week I was playing civ 5. After many attempts, I found a way to win the game on "Immortal Difficulty", but I can do this only with the Polynesian civilization on the "Large Islands" map on "Marathon Speed" - without cheating or beneficial loading. I was doing great. My fleet was huge, at least 10 ships with 10 upgrades. Two capitals were already fallen. And I needed those "happiness" to let the cities grow. So I was waiting the Indonesian civilization to make their island cities. As we all know, their first 3 cities found on different islands(continents), gives one unique luxury resource. So I had a city near the main Indonesian continent and I was seeing settlers to travel to the west and was waiting for new cities to be found. But none appeared. So I send a spare Privateer after one of the settlers and what I did just found. He was sending them to a location with barbarians :)

The donut map in civ 5 is also good for playing high difficulty. The good think here is, that there are always only two fronts, which may be easily guarded and entrenched.

Everything went well, when on July 1981 all 3 remaining nations declared war! This is a small 4 corners map on Immortal difficulty.

Archipelago maps are may be the easiest, or in other words, mendable in higher difficulty. We only need a bunch of battleships to take care for the whole empire. And naval units make the +1 range upgrade on the third level and not the forth like land units.

Custom Houses | Civilization 5

The great merchant generated in the cities great person's can create custom houses, giving a lot of gold. The bonuses on the screen are increased with social policies. For maximum gold, much of the custom houses should be around the capitol, as there are additional gold % bonuses.

After another 5 days struggle, a cultural victory is achieved on the 4 corner map, before the last difficulty!

F2 Key | Civilization 5

Pressing F2 key in Civilization 5 game, brings up the Economic Overview. It is a cool way to admire your empire, observe statistics and find cities by criteria.

The Crazy Frigate | Civilization 5

This game I play on ring world on the difficulty before the last one. 3 of the AI's are in the Information Era. 2 of them are no more. And me, I'm just after the Industrial Era. But with this 12 level frigate, even the battleships can't stop me :) Well there are 3 crazy frigates... and an Ironclad. With all 12 levels, the frigate can fire twice and run back to hide, while the ironclad is expendable.
