Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne take place after Reign of Chaos and the demon invasion. The compilation of real time strategy and  RPG in the campaigns remains the same. There are new artifacts and two new races to play in the campaign, the story of Blood Elves and how they were driven to their magic hunger and the story of Naga, the Illidan servants. After the battle of Mount Hyjal, much of Ashenvale remain tainted by demonic energies. In this perilous times, Maiev Shadowsong comes forth to hunt her dangerous pray Illidan and chain him once again. As her responsibility was to guard Illidan's cell, she is now taking his capture personally. Maiev is a melee nigh elf hero, who may teleport at short distances. Here Maiev will meet the Illidan's ally, the Naga.

The next mission take place on the mysterious island chain. As the ruins looks strangely familiar, it turns out they are risen from the depths of the see by some huge power. Here, the night elf warden establish a base, while exploring the rest of the islands on water. The shores may be guarded by Ancient Protectors, the night elf towers. While rooted, the tree can attack flying and distant enemies, and while unrooted it can attack close enemies and eat trees to regain hit points. The Ancient Protector can also change location.

There are some Mercenary Camps scattered around the Broken Isles to guide the warden in her quest. In this Mercenary Camps Giant Sea Turtles can be recruited. The turtles can walk either on ground and the sea. They have a strong ranged attack, and they are the catapult units of the Naga race.

As Illidan flee in the Tomb of Sargeras, he leave his loyal nagas to ambush the warden. Maiev also find some interesting story, when Gul'Danorh have entered for the first time in the tomb.Along the way there are many tomb guardians like the overlord on the screenshot.

With the Maiev Blink ability, she can teleport to unreachable by others places or behind doors. There are 10 places in the Tomb of Sargeras, where only Maiev can reach and every place hide one of 10 Shadow Orb fragments. The Shadow orb will remain as one item and will increase power with every new fragment found, giving damage and armor. Eight of these fragments should be not hard to find, following the restoration runes and using the Blink ability. But two of them remain hidden for this adventurer.

Now Maiev realize, the powers of the Illidan nagas are too strong and is desperate for help. A runner must be sent to warn the druids. To protect the runner, Hippogryphs become available. They are the night elf first flying unit. Also here is this rain and lightnings all the time, which are quite irritating.

Help is on the way. Malfurion (Furion) and Tyrande join Maiev in mission 5. But first, they must reach the warden base. There seems to be some love affair between Malfurion and Tyrande, and a lot of tensions between Tyrande and Maiev, because Tyradne freed Illidаn. Maiev is a sworn enemy of Illidan and he is a brother of Malfurion and also seems to have some affair with Tyrande. All this making a small in game soup. What is important to us, is this nice Ring of Protection +3 near that bush over there. The new heroes are at maximum level, but their bags are yet empty

Shards of the Alliance Mission 6 | Mercenary Camp | Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne

The chase of Illidan leads to the lands of humans and elves where the aftermath of demon invasion is a devastation. There the heroes meet Kael, a blood elf under the command of what have remained from the Alliance. As he is preparing to leave, he needs a little help guarding the caravans. Along the way there are Mercenary Camps offering nice combat creatures like trolls and their healers. But to get the money for hiring new units, some minor quests need to be completed.

Meanwhile the earth begins to tremble. Illidan is trying to collapse the mountains with a powerful spell. Although the spell main purpose is not destruction, its side effect is tearing the land apart. In mission 7 Maiev and Malfurion must interrupt the Spell of Destruction, before it is completed (30 minutes). Along the way they will find another hero, a human paladin to help in this task. The spell is maintained by four summoners. And these summoners are immune to normal attacks. If there is no one with magic attack around, use the Maiev Shadow Strike (third ability), to destroy the summoners. Cross fingers to have enough mana.

Following the affair, Malfurion and Illidan now work together to find Tyrande, who disappeared during last mission. Carrying the affair, Maiev hide from them she may be still alive, and is now cross way. But it is cool, naga race is now playable. They have a powerful warriors and spellcasters, like the Naga Siren. Naga Sirens are produced in the Shrine of Azhara. After the mission Malfurion let Illidan go, for he have helped save Tyrande. Illidan himself will try to hide from his master, for failing with the destruction spell. Maiev will appear just in time, be angry at Malfurion and Tyrande and go in the portal after Illidan. With this, the night elf campaign ends, but some of the heroes will be met again, in the next Blood Elf campaign.

 Here is how the story of the blood elves begins. Kael is their leader. He is a mage hero, who can cast Flame Strike. Area magic, which damages friend and foes and remove trees. He and his men are somewhat second hand in the Alliance. The Grand marshal attitude to ward them is horrible, and atop that, Kael was helped by the naga in repairing the observatories. The Grand marshal do not like the naga too.

In mission 10, Kael is left by the Alliance, alone, surrounded by undead. It all may look helpless at first, but then Lady Vashj come to help. She is a naga ranged hero, who can cross water and ground. She has a lightning spell, weapon damage spell and shield spell. There is that pendant of vitality in the near camp, which can be bought a lot, and fill the inventory before the next mission. Lady Vashj warriors are almost unstoppable with proper support.

 After Kael's victory over undead, the human marshal imprison him with accusations of treason. Before the execution, Lady Vashj comes to help. Now she and Kael must leave the dungeon with as many of his blood elf brothers as possible. Along the way, there are a lot of secrets in the Dungeons of Dalaran. To some of them, the way is blocked by mushrooms. Kael can use his Flame Strike spell to remove the mushrooms. And Lady Vashj can swim in the canals.

 Another treasure in the dungeons of Dalaran is the Ring of Archmagi. The ring have 4 fragments, making it more powerful with every new fragment found. It increase Strength, Agility and Intelligence of the hero. Every fragment is kept by a mage, hidden on the map. They shouldn't be hard to find, except the last one, hidden behind the Red Runes.

All runes so far are in pairs or more, except the red rune. It seems the second red rune is nowhere to be found. But it lies behind a cave entrance with no indication. Here on the screenshot is the entrance to the second red rune. Make sure someone is over the first one back on the way and move one of the heroes exactly where is shown(the tree green arrows point) on the screenshot. The hero will appear exactly over the second red rune and the secret door will open. There is enormous treasure there no doubt.

The Secret Level in the dungeons of Dalaran can not by missed. Along the way, there are 3 color sheeps standing in a magical pylons. Take 3 men and step on the pylons in different order. At some point the right combination will be triggered and a door to the north will open. There lies the Secret Level Powerup. It is believed the combination is: Friend You Are. The secret level will do nothing at the moment, but will lead to next secret level mission and later the Panda hero will join as a reward.

This mission is available after finding Secret Level in Dalaran. It is a famous tower defense game. The blood elves must pass trough the portal, and the portal must be defended from the coming waves of monsters with towers placed on their way. The portal have some health and can stand a few misses. More advanced and powerful towers will be available in time. The two heroes Kael and Lady can also move around and help. The creature waves do not attack the heroes. A lot of air attack towers will be needed to win this game. 4 workers should be enough to build more towers on 4 different places after every wave. In the end, almost the whole way should be covered with towers to stand this menace. Winning will give the Panda hero in next mission.

The blood elves are teleported in the Outlands to search a new home. This is where Illidan is trying to hide from his demon master. the heroes arrive just in time to see Maiev have captured him. It is time to free him, and with Jinto Reedwine - The Panda Hero, at hand, this mission can be done in the first time Illidan is captured and some units are hired from the Mercenary Cams to the south. Jinto Reedwine - The Panda Hero is available after finishing the Secret Mission.

Gates of Abyss Mission 14 | Draenei Seer Screenshot | Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne

In the next mission, Illidan need to close 4 demon gates bringing demons in the Outlands. A very useful help will come from the Draenei tribes on these lands. In one of the mercenary camps, a Draenei Seer can be hired. The Draenei Seers have the Healing Wave spell, which is amazing and easy to use.
