Eador Genesis | Adventure Walktrough

Mission 1 - The Beginning

I found myself in the fantasy world of Eador. And as far as I know this is the longest turn based staregy game in the world (in 2017). I crossed mountains, planes, a forest, through the sea, to reach my castle. Yep I have a castle, it's amazing! And ofcourse, there was a rival. The combats in Eador appear in separate window and are very similar to Heroes of Might and Magic combats.

Shard 1 - World of Eador

After I defeated the rival lord, the shard become part of my new world. Combining more shards my world become bigger, or simply give me more energy. The concept of Eador, seems to be very similar to the fate of our universe, the real one, and it is called the Astral. A long time ago after a big bang, created by some powerful device and an evil lord, Eador was destroyed and shatterede to many many shards. Now new lords appear and try to bond the shards in world designed by their philosophy and personality. So here is my world and some shards around. Acquiring a shard also give new buildings to build in my castle. And there are a looot of buildings. An important building from the shard I choose is the Crystal. It gives my heroes quests and rduce the cost for hiring heroes.

Eador is one of the longest turn based strategy games out there. The campaign of the game may take up to 6 months, exploring every corner of the maps and chasing set artifacts. The concept is amazing, it is something every true gamer may had in his dreams at some point. This is a classical strategy game with hex combat screen, that every strategist need to play.

Map and Sites | Eador: Genesis

This is the map from a later game mission. Every province on a given map may have more than 8 sites in it. Some of the sites are revealed by default, other must be found with exploring hero, and another we may build in the home province. The crystal is used to obtain small minor quests. The arena may be very useful for generating money, having the sense to pick the winner/ There are also many and different kinds of shops, which hold interesting artifacts.

Magic Tree | Eador: Genesis

Here is the magic tree in the main castle. We can have 3 level 0 spells. 12 level 1 spells. 9 level 2 spells. 6 level 3 spells and 3 level 4 spells. Spells are placed in the hero spell slots and every spell may be perfect for different combat. One of the game changer spells is the summon ghost 3th level spell. First ghosts are immune to physical weapons and second, a mage with 3th level army slot may take teh ghost in his army and further develop and upgrade it. This mean a mage hero may become very powerful for a very short time.

Provinces Info | Eador: Genesis

This is a list of all our provinces which show:

1. How many gold and crystal the province brings.
2. What strategic resource the province have.
3. The inhabitants of the province - humans, goblins, centaurs, orcs, elves and more.
4. The mood of the inhabitants - low mood may lead to riots.
5. Constructed buildings in the province. Only 3 buildings are allowed, choose wisely.
6. Guards and defense.
7. The number of magic sites in the province.

Castle Buildings | Eador: Genesis

Every conquered island in the eternal plane will unlock one or more buildings to build in the main castle in the next island. They are so many and do so different things, that one can lost himself there.

The Hydra is one of the easiest unit to play in Eador: Genesis computer game. Just one good level hero and one good level hydra, can crush the strongest armies in the game(excluding the strongest armies led by hero). The hydra is slow, but very strong rank 4 unit. It can reach over 200 points of health and over 35 attack and counterattack. Hydra can be breeded from a Hydra Egg in later stages. The special abilities of the hydra are:

Swamp knowledge, allowing faster movement on swamp terrain.

Poison attack, cumulative with all poison hits.

Regeneration, that will restore lost health.

Many heads, allowing the hydra to harm all enemies around it.

Poisonous skin, that will poison anyone that hit it.

Now imagine the Hydra with some spells like:

Word of Life, that gives extra movement point and additional life regeneration for 3 turns.

Vampirism, that will regenerate health according to damage from every hit from every head.

Astral Energy, allowing movement twice per turn.

And here is an Archer hero and one hydra crushing 6 cyclops. Cyclops are one of the best rank 4 units.

Good Eador player have noticed that sometimes the rival immortals are developing too fast, and are difficult to be stopped when they reach our castle. Here is one good style to play when attacking or defending a shard and prepare for the enemy hero, knocking at the door.

What we need to do is to find and slay a dragon before turn 50-60. The dragon will drop a rare artifact, that will increase the hero endurance against rival heroes considerably.
1. Single dragon may be killed with a Scout hero with double shot. So we will need to level up the scout as fast as possible to level 10, and make him Archer.
2. The Archer's shots will need a lot of stamina, so we need to save money to buy 3-4 Copper Rings and a belt from the shop in the castle.
3. We will need to upgrade the carpenter's shop in the castle to level 3 and get the Heavy crossbow and the Heavy arrows.
4. As combat units during the whole time, we will need only Spearmen, so we just build the Workshop in the castle.
5. Now we will need a little luck, or fast exploration to find a dragon lair in one of the nearest lands.

After we are equipped with the most basic weapons and armour and reached level 10, we can go to the dragon lair and try to beat him and take the trophy:
1. At level 10 the Archer should have at least 5-6 slots for units. We fill them all with rookie level 1 Pikemen.
2. We put the Archer in one of the corners and place the Spearmen in front of him.
3. If not fixed in latest versions, the dragon will attack the week spearmen and rarely will target the hero with his ranged attack. If the dragon find a gap to reach the hero, we are doomed, so every gap is replaced with another Spearmen.
4. We need just 3-4 turns to reduce the dragon's health with the double shots. Sometimes the battle may end with the dragon and the hero one to one with very low health.
