The cruiser is the first naval ranged unit. It is very very useful. Later it can be upgraded and become more powerful. Make 6 cruisers and become invincible.

Civilization: Beyond Earth | City Screenshot
Here is the inner look of a young city. It have some nice resources around. It is at population 3, so it has 3 workers, one in the center and two movable. The city output is on the top left. It can have a focus, but can not be stopped from growing, like the old civs. Renaming the city from edit button over the name. To the right is the city construction and purchases. And down left (not seen on the screen) are the constructed buildings.
Civilization: Beyond Earth | Excavating Screenshot
Here is some hints for excavation plan. Firsts, some crash sites are located over Miasma. Miasma is like fungus in AC, it will take damage to the unit over it every turn. So those sites may be left for later, the AI will not dig them. Second, the water crash sites also seem a little interest to AIs. They should be watched when a city is build close to them. Always first check the map for resource pods, especially the north and south poles, and then go for the crash sites, beginning with the closest ones so the explorer is close to a city to refill the module for the next site.

Civilization: Beyond Earth | Resources Screenshot
There are plenty and strange resources in civ 5 BE. Some of them are strategic resources, which allow construction of specific buildings and units. Other are bonus resources , which give additional food, production or energy to the city near it. Getting crowded.

Civilization: Beyond Earth | Expeditions Screenshot
Every civilization starts with one explorer unit. Every explorer have 1 expedition module (more with development). There are plenty of remaining on the planet surface, either from human ships or alien in nature. When the site is explored it will disappear, use the module and give some nice reward, especially Artifacts(l). Modules are renewed when the unit visit a city. Now we found a Crashed Satellite! The question is, should we excavate the site or continue to search resource pods? Resource pods are like ruins in civ games, but they can also offer artifacts. And the first 50 turns are crucial, as every other player is searching for pods, and crash sites.

Civilization: Beyond Earth - Town Siege
There again the town is under siege. On the hardest difficulty, on a small map, things are quite violent. for now, the priority is the melee units, as only they can capture the city. The bad things is that the cities are too close and the rival blue player can capture the town in one turn from his city with advanced rover, who move 3 times and levitate.

Civilization: Beyond Earth - City 42
Here is my capitol city! It is almost maximum developed and have 42 population number. With the Drone Command building, it has 44 workers, available to place on the hex to work, or in one of the specialists buildings. The Drone Command building is available from artifacts. This awesome city brings 226 culture, 364 production, 433 food making it to grow very fast, 336 energy credits, 220 science and 28 health per tern. Very cool indeed.
Civilization: Beyond Earth - Virtues
The Virtues in Civilization: Beyond Earth gives some cool bonuses to the empire. They are unlocked with culture and have 4 main fields: Might, Prosperity, Knowledge and Industry. And there are those strange synergy bonuses. Every synergy bonus unlock additional benefits to the empire. How is the synergy bonus acquired? To unlock the horizontal synergies just get 5 virtues in the specific tree, like this on the screenshot. The first knowledge synergy is unlocked, as there are more than 5 knowledge virtues. The vertical synergies need a number of any virtue in the level of the tree. And finally here on the screen, one the most important Virtue for expansive players, the -40% cultural penalty for number of cities for new virtues.

Civilization: Beyond Earth | Domination Victory Screenshot
The exciting adventure in the Civilization: Beyond Earth RT world, ends with a domination victory on the hardest difficulty. Here the hardest level is not as insane as the previous civs, it is quite playable for ordinary players. It gives a little challenge in the early stages, but surviving them, the pleasure of beating stronger AIs is irreplaceable. Until we see again.
