Civilization 2: Test of Time: Extended Original Game

Civilization 2: Test of Time | Extended Original Game
This time I didn't manage to finish the game, because the aliens made their spaceship first. My spaceship arrived on the next year, but my colonists did not appear on the planet. So next time I'll know! Here are some notes:
1. I need only the grasslands, with enough money, production is irrelevant
2. On the highest difficulty the unrest is insane, but when the city pass 20 population, on Democracy and 20% luxury, things go smooth.
3. I can wipe out all other civilizations to prepare for the final battle with Gaspachi*

Army from NONE | Civilization 2: Test of Time

Army from NONE | Civilization 2: Test of Time
Here is my lovely army, which do not require city support. As we know from my class lessons, older civilization had macro support from cities, and not like in versions after Civilization 5, a global support. So it is important to discover the Republic fast and make some money to bribe units which are outside city territories. And more importantly Settlers :)

Today We Play: Civilization 2: Test of Time

Today We Play: Civilization 2: Test of Time
You know how people play chess occasionally. Well that is how I play civ ToT. This game is legacy of Civilization. I was very unhappy to find out, that Civ 2 test of time, does not run on Windows 8, or have problems when creating cities.  If Windows think that they can bury this game, I'll oppose them by posting game screenshots every time I play it. The game is old, they say. The shovel is old I reply :)

Civ TOT Fantasy | Merfolk Underwater City
Here is our first city in the Underwater world. It looks so peaceful so far. All terrain here is manageable. We can build cities on mountains and dwarfs later can go and transform the terrain, having world portals in the cities. The sea resources here are most potent.

Only Buteo race can build cities in the cloud world, but we can hunt as many ruins there too. But the cloud world is a dangerous place. Strange creatures and dragons wonder around and attack any unit or city.

This is the Clowd World in Civilization: Test of Time Fantasy scenario, with some cities on it. Only Buteo race can build cities there, but playing them might not be a good idea. Most of the clouds in the sky are not manageable, only roads can be build on them. Exception is the blue cloud. Civ 2 TOT Fantasy | Siege Army Screenshot.

Civ 2 TOT Fantasy | Siege Army Screenshot.
The undersea world in Civilization: Test of Time Fantasy scenario, is relatively calm, but not at all. Undead units can move to underworld and some very powerful monster barbarians can capture our  cities. Top of all, they can reproduce themselves there. Only 3-4 turns after the city is captured, the barbarians have enough monsters to let one of them out of the city(seen on the down right on the screen). The best option to return a city is a huge army of Siege Engines. Sometimes they are better from the Silver Dragons, considering cost.

Civ 2 TOT Fantasy | Baba Yaga Screenshot

Civ 2 TOT Fantasy | Baba Yaga Screenshot
The I Baba Yaga unit is may be one of the greatest unit in Civilization: Test of Time game. It is available only to the Infidels race, but we can bribe Baba Yagas with enough gold. Baba Yaga is a flying unit, it can conquer cities, do not need to refuel, can go to the Cloud World and Undersea World, have 4 moves, and it have a decent attack. In some way, it is better than dragons!
