In advanced missions rookies go in combat with the awesome M-60 machine gun, and lucky enough they are quite good with it making this Lucky medal. It is a lot of shooting but just stay as far as possible from the aliens so they can not hit you and use the auto shot. There are 125 rounds in the M-60 machinegun so fire at will.
