The silver and gold can be found in the middle layers of the earth. They are the materials for some key structures, tools, armors and weapons. Silver is the grey-white dotted piece of earth and the gold is the yellow shiny one. They are found in clusters and one cluster may lead to another, so it is always good to follow any metal deposit we find and explore a little around it.

Silver is best to craft tools - pickles and axes, while we save the gold for armors and weapons. They may be needed to craft some comfortable furniture too, and gold is needed to make the portal parts.

The crystals and mithril can be found in the deepest thick layer of the earth. We will need a good pickle to mine them, at least silver one. If the dwarf have an iron pickle, it may knock that piece of earth forever.

There to the left of the screen are the crystals. They are needed only to craft the portal parts and will drop one of 5 types of crystal. To the right we have the mithril deposit and some gold around it. Mithril is the best metal in the game. If we play long enough we may craft mithril armor, tools and weapons. They have amazing quality and properties.

The rails and wagons are very handy in Craft the World game. They will save the precious mana for the Portal Spell, when we need to dig the utmost layers of the planet. As we already know, it is good to have one long horizontal tunnel just under our house basement. The tunnel should be in straight line with as less obstacles. While we make that tunnel we may find the most basic crafting materials - iron and coal. Then when it become too long, we will need that rails and wagons.

A lot of iron is required to build this installation, but it is not needed to be built at once. First we place the rails. They can be placed over ladders too. Then we craft the wagons separately and place them over the rails. The dwarves the will begin to use the wagons and as much of them we have, less will they wait for a free wagon. Here on the screen a dwarf is expanding the tunnel and found some iron and coal deposit. When they are mined the holes will be filled with dirt or wooden walls and the main rail will continue to the east.

Elevators transport the dwarves faster in vertical tunnels. When we craft one, just place it on 3 square wide floor and 2 square high wall, and then begin to dig down, like on the screenshot. The elevator cabine will adjust for digged square.

The elevators seems to have length limit. We can make a rail from the west to the east end of the map, but as much I tried to make an elevator to the earth's core, I failed. They are good for the house too, if we have enough room in it. It is sometimes hard to install elevators, especially with many station floors.

Digging through the world, from time to time we may find some abondoned halls, from ancient civilizations, no doubt ancestors of our dwarves. What is good for this halls is that they contain some very useful furniture, that we may salvage and use in our oun home. Finding such a place in the early stages is good indeed. We may take things, that are far in the technology tree and use them before discover it. Beside furniture, the walls and the doors may be very handy too.

Digging deeper and deeper in Craft the World, we will finally reach the bottom of the planet. There is the lava river that is lethal to the dwarves. If this dwarf on the screen dig the square under his feet, he will fall and reach the end of the world.

Beside, from the darkness beneath there is a monster lurking. This is the lovely red dragon. He is harmless as long as we stay over this last platform. But bold adventurers may try and place a ladder down and make artificial floor from dirt or stone just over the hot lava to try and hunt the dragon.

Craft the World - Second Warehouse Screenshot

When we advance in the technology tree in CtW game, we will be able to build another warehouse, where the dwarves will store the resources they gather and craft. The first warehouse usualy become situated on the surface level of the house, so the second one may be placed where the big digging down begins.

Here on the screenshot the second warehouse is situated at the starting point of a long horisontal rail way and the elevator that transport the dwarves vertical deep under ground. Later, this elevator will be moved from the other side of the warehouse and the dwarves will continue to use the central ladder. Rails and elevators may be useless in the first level, but next two worlds will be harder and the mana for the Portal spell will be precious. So we need to have meanings of relatively fast transportation to the diging sites by all available means.
