When we reach the baking technology, we will need a lot of crops to make those bags of grain, that are needed to bake bread and cookies. There on the first planet we can find wild crop and gather it. But the ice planet is too harsh for wild crops. So we will need to grow our own crops.

First, we will need at least one grain. We can find grain when we dig down the earth, or from the shop. Then we put the grain in the earth. We can not put it in sand, stone or snow. When the dwarves place the grain, it will begin to grow. But if during the raping process the snow fall, the plants will lean and die. To prevent this, we build a shed from any durable material 3 squares over the crop field, like this on the screenshot.

What is interesting of this house is the roof. It is designed to gather the falling snow and we have a hatch on the top, so the warves can easily access the roof. This is because there is a possibility for trees growing on the roof. It is near and easily accessable.

This is where the dwarves find the room with the portal for the next level in Craft the World computer game. It is guarded by a beholder or two and usually appear in a forbidden room in the depth level where mithril deposit is found. This is quite deep indeed. We may dig randomly and eventually we will find the portal. We may use the Compas spell to decide to where to dig or we may adopt a digging scheme to explore the earth depts. A good digging scheme is one horizontal tunnel under the house level, reaching the boths ends. From there to approximate equal distances we may dig long vertical tunnels, that are connected to the horisontal tunnel with ladders and explore the rooms and crust cracks from there.

When we find the portal, it will be inactive. So we need to craft five special parts to make it function again. The parts appear in the second inventory tab and to craft them we will need to have a lot of iron, gold, mithril and a few crystals. There are 5 types of crystals that may be bought from the shop too.

There is the the desert planet in CtW game. It is the level 3 world and we need to pass first two to reach it. There is a little dirt and stone on the surface and everything else is just sand. The three types of animals walking around are a buffalo, a lama and a funny bird. The trees are sparse, but they can grow on desert too. Small plants that give one wood can grow on the sand and there are some cactuses that bring water and needles. There is no stone mauntain, like in the previous worlds and stone overground appear in small deposits. But there is a lot of it underground if we dare to go in the depts early.

There is the nasty tornado run amok the desert planet in Craft the World game. It will appear from time to time and swallow everything in its way, including materials left on the ground, animals, dirt, sand and dwarves. The dwarves will usually run from it, but sometimes they may be caught in hard terrain and fail to escape. But if the dwarf is in good health worry not, he will spin for a while and be thrown somewhere losing health just from the fall. The hurricane can't lift stones, trees, and bricks. It will lift roofs though, no matter the material.

As always our first task is to build a shelter for the dwarves, so they can rest and regain their health. The building material in the desert world are sparce. The sand itself will collapse and the first option is to dig down the ground. Where the desert walls collapse, we replace them with the stone at dirt, so we must dig every possible stone around and think for the holes later.

The basic shelter have 3 levels as narrow as possible, just for a bed in the both sides. The ladders descend beside the warehouse covered with a hatch.

This is a lovely home made from stone in the desert world . There is no roof, because the hurricane that is wandering the level 3 desert will blow it away. It will blow sand and dirt too, as well as wood, wooden doors and wooden cages. The stone in the desert world is sparse, so we must use it economically. It is a good foundation for the house and the confort can reach more than 70%.

To build stone walls, we just drag the stones we have gathered from the inventory tab, to the usable slots down on the screen. The parter floor to the both sides of the house is good to be from stone too, because the tornado will make holes in the ground from dirt and sand, making the terrain hard for battle. And the battles in level 3 are tough.

Every dwarf in CtW can have up to 3 skills. They can increase in skill only by books and not from experience. The books are found while we dig the world or buying them from the shop and they will appear in the third inventory tab. It may be a good idea to have a dwarf with specific skill and put all those books only on him. But playing the harder levels we may loose a dwarf or two. They will be reborn in 2 minutes, but all the skills we put on them will be lost.

So another good idea is to distribute the skills evenly. For example, this dwarf on the screen can become +9 in mining with the mining book, but we can save the book and make every dwarf a miner. Also, being a miner, it is good to be climber and swimmer. Or like on the screen the third skill is miller so the dwarf have a mining, a crafting and a mobility skill.

Occasionally we need to craft an item or two in Craft the World computer game, but some times it is a good idea to initiate a crafting campaign with all available dwarves, when a good quantity of resources have been gathered. It will save dragging the same materials constantly and make as much things as possible at once. Here on the screen, 8 of 9 dwarves are crafting something and one is collecting the production. It is good idea to to do this when the monster wave begin, so the dwarves are in the house and can protect it fast when needed.

There are 6 crafting installations. The Workbench is for manipulating wood, and make furniture. The Stove is to prepare food or bake bricks. The Smithy is to manipulate metals, including iron, silver, gold and mithril. The Workshop is to manipilate stone. Two of them (not present on the screeen) are The Mill uset to make grain and The Lab is to create potions.

One of the key mining resources in the game Craft the World is the Coal deposit(centre of the screen). Part of the gameplay is to dig the depths in finding it. First of all, the coal is not renewable resource like the wheat, the trees, the fruits or the fish, until discovery of Advanced Alchemy. Second it is consumable, not like iron(right on the screen) and stone. From iron we make armor, from stone we make walls, but the coal we need for baking, and the delicious meal is consumable. The dwarves like good food so we need to get in the cooking business and cooking need fire, which needs coal.

Then we will need more and  more of the precious coal, and dig deeper and deeper. And deep inside the earth's crust, there are monstrous beings, and critters, ruins with treasure chests and may be a dragon. Somewhere there, in a moisture ancient hall, lies the portal to another world.
