Civilization: Beyond Earth game is what some call the next Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri. It is a turn based strategy game, with civilization 5 engine, cool graphic and a lot of system requirements. I had to put another windows 7 OS just to try this game. Like all Sid Meier's creations, its cool. There is just two things, which should have made the game more exciting. First, a staged world exploration - now, the whole world may be explored in the early stage, leaving no place for slow development.  Second, unit usage - now the most usable units are the jet crafts and fast trucks, which are available almost from the beginning.  And lastly, but most importantly - there is no alien race! Hope it will appear in future updates. Overall, the game offers some nice concepts, reviewed in the following screenshots:

They have melee, ranged and flying units, as well as 3 naval units. In general they will not attack, unless we attack them first. It is challenging to keep the aliens around as they are getting on the way of army and constructors. But they can be a good shield in early wars. In time they can even become friendly, and their color will change to blue. Also later they can be captured. The aliens roam around their nests (l) .

There are those awesome artifacts in civ 5 BE. They can be obtained from crashed sites, resource pods, quest completion, research focus, or alien nests removal. When combined in set of 3, they will give some extraordinary reward, like some bonus building with no maintenance, like the Drone Command. Or some full empire benefit, like stronger units, cover ops, or city benefits. The patience is the key, gather as many artifacts and make different combinations to see the rewards.

Civilization: Beyond Earth | Excavating Screenshot

Civilization: Beyond Earth | Excavating Screenshot
Here is some hints for excavation plan. Firsts, some crash sites are located over Miasma. Miasma is like fungus in AC, it will take damage to the unit over it every turn. So those sites may be left for later, the AI will not dig them. Second, the water crash sites also seem a little interest to AIs. They should be watched when a city is build close to them. Always first check the map for resource pods, especially the north and south poles, and then go for the crash sites, beginning with the closest ones so the explorer is close to a city to refill the module for the next site.
